Drew Pearce, who created the British superhero TV satire No Heroics, has been tapped to write Paramount’s adaptation of DC Comics title The Mighty. Mary Parent, Cale Boyter and JC Spink are producing. Paramount was able to get the book from DC and its parent company Warner Bros. since the book was creator-owned and not set in the DC Universe.
Pearce, repped by WME and London’s PBJ Management, created, wrote and produced No Heroics, which featured superheroes milling around a local pub; ABC commissioned a pilot for an American version but it didn’t get picked up.
