Scribes 'Wanted' for sequel

With "Wanted" grossing $341 million worldwide, Universal had plenty of incentive to fast-track development of a sequel, though there hasn't been much movement on the project since Spiliotopoulos boarded in 2009.

Marc Platt will produce "Wanted 2" along with Jim Lemley, Ken Levin, Jason Netter and Bekmambetov. Universal execs Jeff Kirschenbaum and Anikah McLaren will oversee for the studio.

Brandt recently directed the Richard Gere-Topher Grace spy thriller "The Double," which he co-wrote with Haas. Duo also wrote "The Courier," an upcoming crime thriller that stars Mickey Rourke and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
