InkTip: Scripts Wanted 569...

Another script was optioned and four more writers were hired through InkTip . .

Jerrol LeBaron Hires Jed Rigney
Jerrol LeBaron discovered writer/director Jed Rigney on InkTip, and knew he'd found the right person to help write and direct his documentary, "Fools on the Hill." "His was just the kind of smart writing I was looking for," says Jerrol, "and I knew he would include the right amount of shock, humor and information to make this a movie everyone would want to see." The film has completed production. To see what Jerrol is up to and what kind of work Jed can do, the trailer can be seen here: www.foolsonthehillmovie.com

Rob Heydon Options "Honour Bound"
Rob Heydon discovered "Honour Bound" on InkTip and optioned it from writer Shawn Whitney. Heydon's credits include "Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy," which was based on the book by the author of "Trainspotting," and which will be released in the U.S .in 2012, as well as the upcoming "Deadlocked," a BBC/Lionsgate co-pro with Helen Mirren attached in the lead role. Shawn Whitney, an executive story consultant for a Montreal-based production company, wrote the soon-to-be-released MOW "Fatal Performance," and he has a number of other films underway, but this is his first option through InkTip.

Joseph Nasser Hires Evan Jacobs
Joseph Nasser with the Nasser Entertainment Group met Evan Jacobs through InkTip and hired him to write an untitled feature thriller. This isn't their first project together; Nasser's credits include "Dawn Rider," onto which Evan Jacobs was hired as a creative consultant and which is filming now with Donald Sutherland and Christian Slater in the lead roles, and "Knockout," starring WWE legend "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, which was shot from the Evan Jacobs script which Nasser originally discovered on InkTip. According to Joe Nasser, who has produced over forty feature films, Evan Jacobs is "one of the best writers I have ever worked with."

Tim VandeSteeg Hires Eleanor Burgess
Tim VandeSteeg with Indiewood Pictures hired Eleanor Burgess to pen "The Life of Grey" for him, after meeting her through InkTip. Tim's recent credits include "My Run," the ten-time award-winning documentary about a real-life Forrest Gump who ran 75 marathons in 75 days. This latest project, "The Life of Grey," will be produced in partnership with Greytone Entertainment. Eleanor Burgess got her start as a playwright, and her work has been performed on both sides of the Atlantic, but this is her first feature screenwriting success.

Kirsten Cavendish Hires Neil Monaghan
Kirsten Cavendish with the Cavendish Fante Picture Company met writer Neil Monaghan through InkTip and hired him to pen the feature film "Scooterman." Neil is the writer of "Made in Romania" (starring Jennifer Tilly and Elizabeth Hurley) and the upcoming "The Cursed" (with director Andrew Piddington at the helm). This is Neil's second success through InkTip.

---------------

3) Filmer Inc - Dramedy from Contest, Repped
---------------
We are looking for completed feature-length dramedy scripts for adult audiences from produced or repped writers or contest-winning dramedy scripts. We prefer scripts dealing with familial issues. In other words, scripts in the vein of “Little Miss Sunshine,” “Juno,” “The Squid and the Whale” or “Sideways.” We are not interested in action-comedies or scripts that are too over-the-top in the comedy hijinks or characters. In other words, eccentric, interesting characters are great, but a script that pushes outrageous humor is not what we are seeking. Please include the feature credit, representation or contest this script has won in your personal message space or resume; otherwise your submission will not be considered.
Budget is open. WG and Non-WG writers may submit.
Our credits include “Labor Pains.”

We are looking for completed feature-length high-concept, lower-budget, character-driven thriller scripts. We are not interested in slasher/gore. The thriller should be more reminiscent of the early films of Danny Boyle (“Shallow Grave”), Christopher Nolan (“Memento”) or Philip Noyce (“Dead Calm”). By high-concept, we mean that the script can be pitched in a short sentence.

Budget will not exceed $2 million. Both WGA and Non-WGA writers may submit.

For more information on gaining access to this lead, please see
www.InkTip.com/pnews.php.

Company B

We are looking for completed feature-length “anti-hero” comedy scripts. This means comedies in which the protagonist is actually someone with whom the audience doesn’t identify, preferably someone loathesome, but for whom the audience will nevertheless feel sympathy, i.e. something in the vein of “Bad Santa” or “Observe and Report.” When pitching, please describe your anti-hero in one sentence in the personal message space.
Budget will not exceed $2 million. WGA and non-WGA writers may submit.

For more information on gaining access to this lead, please see
www.InkTip.com/pnews.php.

We are looking for completed feature-length found footage scripts. Found footage, or POV scripts feature stories told from the first person perspective of a person documenting an event on camera, i.e. something in the vein of “Quarantine” or “Cloverfield.”
Budget will not exceed $1million. WGA and non-WGA writers may submit.

We are looking for completed feature-length one or two-location scripts as samples for a possible writer-for-hire opportunity. We are not open to horror scripts. We are more interested in tension, suspense and psychological thrills such as in the films “Shallow Grave,” “Reservoir Dogs” and “The Following.” If your pitch interests us, we will request the complete sample script for further consideration.
Budget for the sample script is irrelevant. Both WGA and Non-WGA writers may submit.

www.InkTip.com/pnews.php.

We are looking for completed feature-length dark, gritty, quick-paced, edgy thriller or crime scripts as samples for a possible writer-for-hire opportunity. In the personal message space provided, please indicate at the top that this is for the “Spec Assignment.” Otherwise, your submission will not be considered. We are seeking scripts that have an exciting, visceral energy similar to “Enter the Void,” i.e. scripts that are usually directed by foreign directors, such as Nicolas Winding Refn, because of their edgy content and hip visual style. We are not open to horror scripts. We are also not open to crime scripts that do not have a unique angle or style to them. In other words, we are not open to traditional “whodunits” or noir scripts, police corruption, detective stories. We’re looking for “City of God” and not “Silence of the Lambs.” “Oldboy” instead of “Usual Suspects.” “Sin Nombre” or “Irreversible” instead of “We Own the Night.” We prefer kinetically-charged stories about gangs rather than an epic crime saga about organized crime. As far as characters, we are not interested in stories with superheroes, invincible spies, action heroes, etc. Please let us know if you’ve seen some of the above films. If your pitch interests us, we may request the complete sample script for further consideration. Once again, please indicate in your personal message space at the top that this is for the “Spec assignment.”
Budget for sample is irrelevant. Non-WGA writers only may submit.
