An Erotic Tale Starring Robin Wright And Naomi Watts? Okay …

Naomi Watts and Robin Wright are to headline French director Anne Fontaine’s next feature, “The Grandmothers.” The erotic tale of misguided love and a celebration of the enduring nature of female friendship, film tells the story of two lifelong friends who fall in love with each other’s teenage sons. Based on Australian Nobel Prize-winning author Doris Lessing’s novel, it has been adapted for the screen by Oscar winner Christopher Hampton. Xavier Samuel and James Frecheville will star alongside Watts and Wright.

Business/Legal News
The Scoggins Report: Thankgiving Aside, November Was No Turkey

Friend/colleague/contributor Jason Scoggins returns with his bi-weekly look at the spec market. As per usual, the news continues to be good for sellers, as the second half of November was just as strong as the first half (which was as strong as October, and September … and so on), in spite of the holiday. The question is, will it continue into December? As the Magic 8-Ball might say, “All Signs Point To Yes.” But then, don’t take our word for it, check it out for yourself (or, just do as we do, and subscribe! It’s totally worth it!):

Industry Moves
And It Appears That’ll Be All For Brian Frons At ABC

After steering ABC through the cancellation of long running soap operas “All My Children” and “One Life to Live,” ABC daytime president Brian Frons is leaving the company. He’ll be replaced by Vicki Dummer, senior vp of current series and specials. Dummer will preside over a new integrated current entertainment and programming division called Times Square Studios that will consolidate daytime and syndicated programming and development. “The View,” “General Hospital,” “The Chew,” “The Revolution,” “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” and Katie Couric’s upcoming talk show will come under that umbrella. “Live! with Kelly” will remain part of the ABC Owned Television Stations Group division.

Finally Some Good News For “Community” Fans: All The Eps Are Online!

NBC’s “Community” has found a digital community to call home. Through a deal with production company Sony, episodes of the soon-to-be sidelined comedy created by Dan Harmon will stream on Hulu and Hulu Plus. Hulu Plus will be the only place where the series’ entire library will be available. As of last Friday, fans of the comedy starring Joel McHale can stream episodes of the series from the pilot to its most recent foosball-themed episode on the site, with Hulu Plus serving as the exclusive home to the show’s complete roster of episodes.

FNB Editorial
Well, The Weather Outside Is Frightful, And So Is The Dearth Of News

It’s interesting, isn’t it? How as the year winds to a close there’s less and less news to report? Or comment on? The first part of that equation doesn’t bother us so much — let’s be honest, it means less work for people like us, just check out how short today’s newsletter is — but the second part? That presents more of a problem.

And, if you click on the link, you can read all about what that problem is for us.
