Screenwriter Jenny Wingfield's first novel hits home

"Jenny Wingfield enjoys the collaborative experience of filmmaking.

But deep down the Texas-based screenwriter -- whose credits include such movies as The Man in the Moon and A Dog Named Christmas -- often found it less than fulfilling, especially when adapting another writer's book into a screenplay.

'I wanted to write my own stories,' she explains."

I am currently reading the Homecoming of Samuel Lake. Being a county girl and part of a close-knit family, I'm enjoying the heck out of this book. I just read and laugh, nod my head on occassion as I remember the life back then. The book is a must read!
