Japanese movie 'Kiseki' wins script prize at film festival in Spain

The film depicts the adventure of two young brothers, separated by their parents' divorce and yearning to be reunited. They believe a miracle will happen the moment the new bullet trains linking their cities pass one another at top speed.

Koreeda, who also wrote the film's screenplay, was quoted by local media after an official screening Tuesday as saying, ''I wanted to show there is greater importance in the everyday things,'' citing the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in eastern Japan.

Koreeda's ''Nobody Knows'' won the Grand Prix for Best Film at the 31st International Film Festival in Ghent, Belgium in 2004 and Yuya Yagira, who played the leading role in the film won the best actor award at the 57th Cannes Film Festival the same year.
