Jimmy Sangster, 83, scriptwriter put Hammer Films on the horror map

"Sangster went on to write scripts for The Brides of Dracula (1960) and other Hammer “Gothics”; but in the early 1960s, worried about being typecast, he wrote a series of psychological woman-in-peril thrillers beginning with Taste of Fear (1961), and followed by films with such titles as Maniac, Paranoiac (featuring a young Oliver Reed), Nightmare and Hysteria."
