Film/TV Journalist Needs ASSISTANT (Culver City)
Feb 10th 2012, 03:38

I am looking for a part-time, completely flexible assistant. I focus on the motion picture industry and specialize in writing about cinematographers, independent filmmaking, features, documentaries, commercials, 3D, emerging technology and talent, industry trends and events.

Some of my clients include the International Cinematographers Guild, British Society of Cinematographers, International Documentary Association, and many more.

I also produce short films and documentaries and am currently working on getting a feature ready for 2012/13.

I would want your assistance in any and all capacities described above. But this is not a full-time gig at all. Some weeks I wouldn't need anything from you, others I might need a couple tasks completed a day.

Some sample duties might include:

- perusing industry dailies and trade mags online to see what tech is coming down the pipeline
- keeping a 'new release' chart up to date for film/tv
- transcribing interviews
- researching article topics/people

All communication can be done satellite, but I would prefer someone who lives in LA so we can meet if need be and also so you could come onto a production once I start one!!

I can offer school credit, if you're still in school, but unfortunately I am not making nearly enough yet to be paying anyone else :( I am sorry... If you're ever with me for hours on end (which would be rare, I assure you) then you will be fed!

Please send a BRIEF cover letter and a resume (in body of email).

  • Location: Culver City
  • it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
  • Compensation: no pay
