InkTip: Scripts Wanted 571...

Two more scripts were optioned and two more writers were hired through InkTip!

Bob Willems Options "The Silent Type"
Bob Willems with Champion Entertainment discovered "The Silent Type" on InkTip and optioned it from writer Eric Wehr. Willems's credits include the recent "Renfield The Undead." Writer Eric Wehr has written and produced a few short films on his own, as well as a feature length documentary for a non-profit organization, but this is his first feature option through InkTip.

Derek Zemrak Hires John Pizzo
Derek Zemrak and Leonard Pirkle of Zemrak/Pirkle Productions found writer John Pizzo on InkTip and hired him to write the sequel to "Hercules Saves Christmas." The film is scheduled to go into production at the end of January. As highlighted in the InkTip Magazine's last cover story, Derek found John's family dog script through InkTip and produced the feature, which premiered to high ratings on Animal Planet. Due to the successful ratings, Derek hired John to write the sequel. Derek also produced the 2007 feature "Fallen Angels," which starred Michael Dorn (Star Trek: TNG), Bill Moseley and Adrianne Curry, the first winner of "America's Next Top Model." Writer John Pizzo is now a three-time produced writer - with all three scripts found through InkTip. He has a feature in development with William Forsythe and Daniel Baldwin attached. With the amount of family audiences tuned into the first "Hercules" film, we look forward to Derek and John's successful follow-up.

Chuck Howard & Brad Allen Option "Lukewarm"
Chuck Howard & Brad Allen with All Entertainment discovered "Lukewarm" on InkTip and optioned it from the writers Sean Stearley and Chris Miller. And we're now happy to announce that the feature film has been shot and is now in post-production. It was directed by Thomas Makowski, with John Schneider (Bo Duke of "Dukes of Hazzard" fame) in the lead role, and scheduled to air on the Gospel Music Channel in 2012. Writers Sean and Chris have both written and directed features before, independently of each other, and have since teamed up to write a slew of new faith-based projects together.

Andrea Olabarria Hires Jeremy Rigby
Andrea Olabarria with Spoon Entertainment discovered Jeremy Rigby through InkTip and hired him to develop a reality series. Based in Florida, Andrea directed the 2009 feature "Rough Winds." Jeremy also has two feature projects in development: "The Heart of a Spy" and 'The Ivanov Experiment." This is his first assignment through InkTip.

Arslan Baig Options "Sunny Afternoon"
Arslan Baig optioned the short script "Sunny Afternoon" from writer Genevieve Sipperley after finding it on InkTip. Arslan is a Media Science and Filmmaking student in Pakistan who has made two horror shorts: "Invasion of a Psychopath" and "He Who Wears a Mask". He won a "Best Direction" award for "Invasion of a Psychopath" earlier this year. Interestingly, Genevieve's script works as a sequel for the story of "He Who Wears a Mask." The film is scheduled to shoot in the near future.

We are looking for completed feature-length drifting scripts (car drifting). The script must be about the driving technique about drifting, i.e. no scripts about NASCAR or other forms of racing that do not involve drifting. This narrows the submissions but it is important that the story already emphasizes the drifting technique.
Budget will not exceed $3 million. Both WGA and Non-WGA writers may submit.

We are looking for completed feature-length low-budget disaster/apocalypse or post-apocalypse scripts. Because of the low budget, this would not be a big spectacle film showing off the Eiffel Tower getting destroyed or large crowds of people across several continents running. Instead, we are looking for intimate human stories amid worldwide disaster such as in “Take Shelter” or “Signs.” No blockbuster-sized budget Nicolas Cage preventing the Earth’s destruction stories. However, we are open to post-apocalypse survivor stories, i.e. scripts in the vein of “The Road” or “The Walking Dead.” As long as the story encompasses some kind of worldwide doom or destruction, we are open to the type of disaster, such as an Act of God, a zombie/disease epidemic or nuclear destruction.
Budget will not exceed $1.5 million. Both WGA and Non-WGA writers may submit.

We are looking for completed feature-length character-driven, ultra-low budget, low-concept scripts. By low-concept, we mean character-driven stories that are not necessarily pitched in less than six words. In other words, scripts in the vein of “Animal Kingdom,” “Paranoid Park,” “Once” or “Dazed and Confused” where the premise cannot be predicted by reading the title or the general story direction (based on genre conventions) cannot be concluded by the logline. The blockbuster “Cowboys & Aliens” is not low concept whereas “American Graffiti” or “Somewhere” is. We are open to scripts that would be classified (marketed) under different genres, but it should still possess the sensibility of a solid, mature film with rich, emotional, character revelations not dependent on familiar plot-driven and genre-based tropes. We are no t open to stories with the elderly or children as principal characters. We are not open to “disease of the week” scripts or serial killer stories.
Budget will not exceed $200,000. Both WGA and Non-WGA writers may submit.

We are looking for completed feature-length crime/drug scripts set in Central or South America as samples for a possible writer-for-hire opportunity on spec. The type of sample we are seeking would be in the vein of “Sin Nombre,” or “Traffic.” Gritty, rich character-driven scripts. We are not looking for a big action sample (no “Expendables”). We require that the sample script is set in Mexico, Central or Southern America as we are looking for a writer who understands the vernacular and world where we are shooting the project. Please only submit if you are willing to write on spec and include a synopsis when submitting. If your pitch interests us, we will request the complete sample script for further consideration.
Budget for sample is irrelevant. Non-WGA writers only may submit.

Budget is open. Both WGA and Non-WGA writers may submit.

We are looking for completed feature-length creature-feature scripts in the vein of “Jaws” or “An American Werewolf in London” from Canadian or European writers. We are not looking for cheesy, low-brow scripts. No typical monster/slasher films. Such as in “Jaws,” the creature does not always have to be visible in order to heighten suspense. Writers who hold a Canadian or European passport may submit.
Budget will not exceed $5 million. WG or Non-WG writers may submit.
