Selena Gomez Is Getting Her Indie Film On Selena Gomez is set to star in a “raw” role in indie filmmaker Harmony Korine’s “Spring Breakers,” alongside James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Emma Roberts. IFC Films Has Surrounded Itself with “Peace, Love & Misunderstanding” IFC Films has acquired North American rights to “Peace, Love & Misunderstanding,” directed by Bruce Beresford. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. Jane Fonda, Catherine Keener, Kyle MacLachlan, Elizabeth Olsen, Chace Crawford, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Rosanna Arquette and Nat Wolff star in the story of a divorced woman who impulsively takes her two children to Woodstock, NY, to reconnect with their estranged, eccentric grandmother. Comedy Central Done Be In The Show Buyin’ Bidness Comedy Central is bulking up on its comedic offerings. In an effort to expand its slate, the Viacom-owned network has ordered scripts for three more projects, two of which are animated. There’s “Gajillionaires,” a half-hour animated show about the uber-wealthy Benjamin and George Krabbe and their misadventures in the world of big business, created, written and produced by Yoni Brenner. Also is “Grubstein & Grubstein,” an animated comedy created and co-executive produced by Arthur Jones and Karl Ackerman based on two twenty-something brothers who inherit a Brooklyn brownstone filled with oddball tenants, and “Upstate,” a half-hour narrative based on two guys who return to the summer town of their youth and live like they are sixteen again, complete with bonfires, jet-ski races and stealing Uncle Gary’s pot. As Chris Hedges Leaves Paramount Pictures International, Ian George Enters Paramount Pictures International Vice President and Managing Director Chris Hedges will leave the company he’s called home for the past 35 years, the studio announced on Tuesday. Ian George, who previously served as executive vice president of international marketing for Paramount International will replace Hedges. Microsoft! Verbinski! Together Again For The First Time! Blind Wink Productions, the transmedia company founded by filmmaker Gore Verbinski, has cut a deal with Microsoft to create interactive entertainment content exclusively for the company’s variety of platforms, including Xbox 360. The pact’s first collaborative project is an Xbox LIVE Arcade video game designed for Kinect for late 2012.
